Audix ADX20i/P Niere
Features at a glance:
Being a miniature condenser microphone and closely related to the MICRO-D, the ADX20´s features, such as its cardioid pickup pattern, and the clip-on mini gooseneck microphone mount, are ideally suited for miking brass and woodwind instruments. Just as the MICRO-D, it works over a frequency range of 40 Hz – 20 kHz, delivering a rich, warm sound. However, it features a cardioid pickup pattern, which the MICRO-D does not. The rubberised clamp and the light yet secure gooseneck allow quick mounting and accurate placement.
The ADX-20i operates on phantom power (9-52 Volts) and the included preamp module APS-910 provides a Mini XLR (which allows the connection of the MICRO-D cable) to XLR Male and controls the power supply. The ADX20-i (equipped with a 2 cable terminating to a miniature 3 pin XLR-f) comes with a carrying case and a windscreen.
MP-Rating: A brilliant instrument microphone. Perfect for brass and woodwind instruments (not suitable for trumepts). It provides a smooth, uniform response with an extended low-end- just as if it has been made for the trumbone! 6 Stars.
Legend:
1 Star – still room for improvement!
2 Stars – satisfactory overall impression!
3 Stars – good price/performance value!
4 Stars – very recommendable!
5 Stars – highly recommendable!
6 Stars – unbeatable top product!
