Audix’s VLM (Very Low Mass) capsule permits the reproduction of transients and harmonics which, along with a slight rise of the frequency response between 2 - 10 kHz, allows the microphone to compete even with condenser microphones. Compared to the OM-5, the sound produced by the OM-6 is fuller and in contrast to the OM-7, it has slightly more bass proximity. It exhibits a transformerless design with low-impedance, symmetrical output jacks with ensure interference free operation even with long cable runs. The OM-6 provides high feedback-rejection (>30 dB), a rugged grill ball and an SPL capability of up to 144 dB which ensure true roadworthiness and great performance even on loud stages.
