Azumi

Shuichi Tanaka is one of the most exceptional flute makers that have come from the Japanese tradition. After graduating as a flute maker and finishing further education with Muramatsu, he spent several years working for Miyazawa and Takumi. In 1981 Tanaka constructed his first flute, the Altus.
Azumi flutes are in Taiwanese production since 2003. Tanakas experience is found in the whole Azumi
product range. Azumi builds his instruments following the great Altus tradition and the exceptional high quality standard equals that of the master flutes from the original Altus tradition. Azumi flutes are made in the series 1000, 2000 and 3000; they can be distinguished by the number of silver parts used. Additionally all instruments are made with Altus mouth piece, that is unique because of its z finish
