Drum-Hardware
Good beginner-sets already contain a large variety of hardware. The foot pedal should have a solid and - if possible - a soundless drive. You cannot expect to purchase a massive floor plate in the lower price categories. What´s important though, is the angel of the step and the drumstick. It must offer enough adjustment possibilities in order to react to your own play.
A spring controls the tension you need to use the pedal. This also should be adjustable as does your hi-hat-pedal. Turnable pedals are quite nice, as due to the usual hardware-tangle, their three feet are easier to position. Double-footed legs with thick rubber feet also offer a good stand.
Next to the different duct sizes there are also other differences between beginner and professional hardware, e. g. the angular positioning of the cymbal and snare stand. Professional parts are continuously adjustable otherwise everthing can be adjusted in small raster steps. If everything is chromed appealingly and the butterfly screws can be driven painlessly, then it all adds up and pays well!
