The Alesis iO Dock has inputs and outputs for all audio gear, and works with virtually every app in the Apple app store. If the app plays or records audio and works with core MIDI it works with the Alesis iO Dock. The Alesis iO Dock is the iPad add-on to create the ultimate portable recording rig! With two mic pre's, 1/4-inch outputs, and a video output, the Alesis iO Dock changes an iPad into a professional audio recorder. The Alesis iO Dock features two combination XLR and 1/4-inch inputs, each with its own gain control and switchable +48V phantom power for condenser microphones, a Hi-Z switch for electric guitars and basses to play directly into amplifier and effects modelling apps. Bands can connect outputs from their mixer and record performances and rehearsals. Use the iO Dock’s MIDI jacks to sequence external keyboards, samplers, drum machines and synthesizers, or use the iO Dock as the sound module with a MIDI keyboard, drum pad or other controller. An assignable 1/4-inch footswitch input enables remote control of any app-defined function such as stop / start or record. Connect the Alesis iO Dock to a Mac or PC via the USB port to send and receive MIDI. Outputs of the Alesis iO Dock include a pair of 1/4-inch main outputs for studio monitors or PA systems. Monitor on headphones, and independently control the levels of the two outputs. A direct-monitor switch toggles between the incoming and playback signal. The Alesis iO Doc includes a composiite video output to use the Alesis iO Dock as a source for video projection behind bands on stage, or for connection to most televisions and computer monitors. The Alesis iO Dock also serves as a rugged protective iPad case and completely houses the iPad on the bottom and three side surfaces and encases the iPad's screen in a protective bezel on three of its four edges. The Alesis iO Dock is configured to hold the iPad2. For use with the iPad1, remove the iPad2 converter before installing your iPad.
