C.A. Seydel Söhne Blues 1847 Noble Low
The 1847 Noble Low tuned is one octave lower with a 20% thicker pulpit body and deep-drawn sound covers. The range is from LF # (low f#) down to LLE (double low E). Thus, Seydel complements its popular 1847 models with stainless steel reeds right into the extreme bass range.
The double-deep tuned models (LL) are even two octaves lower than normal tuned: Seydels 1847 LLE is thus the deepest Richter harmonica in the world.
Low tuned harmonicas have a very sonorous, slightly softer, unobtrusive sound compared to "normal" tuned models and are therefore often used for accompaniment (for chords and bass lines) or as solo instruments. Especially when playing with an amplifier, your sound reminds you of a tenor saxophone, a trombone or even a tuba. This greatly expands the range of use of the harmonica and opens up many new possibilities for the player.
In order to elicit the desired sound from the deeply tuned instruments, the tones need volume: the reeds must be provided with a sufficiently large resonance chamber and only then does the instrument sound correspondingly fat and loud. The new, around 20% thicker, black anodized aluminum shell body and the higher sound covers help. Special valves ensure very good airtightness even in extremely deep areas.
This design change has a positive effect on the sonority and tone control of the 1847 Noble Low. On the one hand, the player is encouraged to open his mouth slightly wider than normal, which automatically provides the tone with a larger volume of resonance. On the other hand, the larger-volume mouth openings significantly improve the air flow, especially for the low notes. The sound gains in volume and reacts much better.
Thanks to the deep-drawn sound cover annoying click sounds are finally a thing of the past and the sound projection towards the listener is greatly improved.
With the 1847 Noble, the company C. A. Seydel Söhne presents the consistent further development of the successful 1847 Blues models with stainless steel reeds.
The new stainless steel sound covers are frosted and equipped with side openings. This ensures optimised sound projection and air pressure distribution with covered playing and also looks very noble.
The new body made of precisely machined aluminum, black anodised and laser engraved Seydel logo on the back, ensures a very good tightness and an improved feel through the higher weight of the instrument.
The palpable, lenticular key sticker is resistant to abrasion and reduces the risk of picking the instrument up upside down, even in the dark.
The 1847 Noble also has the proven corrosion-free fine-cut nickel silver tuning plates with a stainless steel screw connection and minimal tolerance to the reeds for the best sound control when playing.
The Blues 1847 Noble models are factory-adjusted and equipped with stainless-steel riveting, durable and stable reeds that provide optimal tone response and rich sound.
The 1847 Noble is the highlight of the 1847 Blues Harmonica family. An uncompromising instrument built using the finest materials and Seydel's over 170 years of experience in the construction of harmonicas.
It is available as 1847 Noble Low also in the low keys LF # to LLE.
In the low versions of the 1847 Noble, the lower bells are tapered, minimizing the impact of the first and second pull reeds, even when playing loud.
