CelloThe violoncello or cello in the short form is a wooden string instrument. The body shape is that of a violin, only much larger, and the sides are in proportion to the body, much higher. The cello is strung with four strings of a fifth apart. These are the strings C, G, d, a and thus an octave lower than a viola. Even with the cello, there are body size-optimized models such as 3/4-, 1/2- or 1/4-Cello.
