Eastman guitars have nothing to do with the usual, cheap import guitars. Eastman plays in a different league! The T486B Red Thinline is a high quality semi-hollow guitar with a classic design. The characteristic double cutaway body, as with the large model made of laminated maple with the typical, massive centerblock. The neck is made of maple with an ebony fingerboard. The complete guitar is elaborately painted with a thin nitro lacquer. Gotoh Hardware, Seymour Duncan Phat Cat pickups (P-90 in humbucker format) and a Bigsby B-7 tremolo. Eastman Strings was founded in 1992 as a small violin maker in China. Quite in the tradition of 19th century violin making, Eastman is based on real hand crafting and working with very few machines.
