A great, versatile guitar!User on 07.08.2016
This is the first guitar I've ever bought online "off spec" - having played each of my other guitars before I've bought them - and I'm very pleased with my decision. It's not on sale here in the UK, but I really liked the look of it and wanted something that was a bit of a halfway house between my acoustic and my electric, but didn't want to break the bank, so took a punt!
With separate tone and volume controls for each pick-up, it's incredibly versatile and can be set up for great rock'n'roll/rockabilly tones, a really rich warm blues tone, or played clean for a sweet jazz sound (although I can't claim to be a sweet jazz guitarist). It's not quite as bright as I was initially expecting, and took me a little while to find the tones I was looking for, but after a few hours of playing around with the settings, I'd managed to dial in some great sounds. I've not gigged it yet, but have mostly been playing it through my Blackstar HT-5, using Joyo Vintage Overdrive and Holy Grail Reverb pedals.
It was set up really nicely out of the box with a great action and near-perfect intonation, although I might try a slightly lighter set of strings when I come to change them.
It looks great too - the finish of the wood is lovely, although if you look closely at the metal parts, you can tell that they are "mock" vintage, rather than being genuinely aged.
Overall, a great guitar for the price!
