Keeley Abbey Chamber Verb · Guitar Effect
long, looooong time ago, when there were phones with cables and only 3 TV channels, the Beat Club shocked the good citizens and computers had the dimensions of a freight container, so quite a while ago, it was very complicated to artificially generate Hall or Echo in recording studios. The big name studios had tiled wall rooms or so called chambers with variable diffusers to create different room Hall variantions. Leading the way was the legendary Reverb Chamber at Abbey Road Studios - the signal is passed through a 600 Hz highpass and a 10 KHz lowpass filter, then passed through speakers in the Hall Chamber, collected there with a microphone and then again with a tone control reprocessed in the high frequency range. This complicated, very complicated technique creates a natural, warm and incomparable Hall sound. Keeley has managed to reproduce the Abbey Chamber verb sound with a small effect unit. The filter vertices correspond exactly to those of Abbey Road Studios, the Brilliance knob is 3 way switchable. The Hall can be delayed with a Pre Delay between 30 and 150 ms. The Abbey Chamber verb sounds very authentic and is a recommendation for all who seek this historic sound.
