Good tube sound, flexible and located in an affordable price class - these are the most important features at a glance. The Koch Studiotone Combo could appeal to all guitarists who want to use power amp distortion with tolerable sound levels. On the other hand, the Amp with its 20 watts still has clean reserves, which in most cases should be sufficient. The clean channel has quite fender similar sounds, from bold to sparkle you can find everything here, whereby 2 Voicing switches (2x for mids, triple for high) can intervene effectively in the sound. The Overdrive-channel of the Studiotone goes how it should- warm tube print with British basic character and American overtones. More than enough gain is available. With the Overdrive Boost channel, the same sound is then even more strongly blown, which would then also cover HiGain applications. All 3 sounds share a sound control - no problem in the studio, but also live: the coordination between Clean and Overdrive is very well done. The 12" VG12 Koch loudspeaker, built in cooperation with Jensen, is perfect for this amplifier. Very clever, not only in the studio, but also when it 's really loud: A recording -Out with two simulated cab types and microphone positions is located on the back and if it is to go silently, you can switch the Powersoak directly into the mixing desk without any noise. The philosophy behind the Koch amps is that the technology should have a completely different approach to guitar amplification. In their opinion, a guitar amplifier has basically the same function as the resonant body of an acoustic guitar and accordingly contributes its part of the sound, like the guitar itself. Therefore, a good sounding amp is more than the sum of a clever circuit diagram and high-quality components and materials. Koch amps have been designed to provide the guitarist with a perfect balance, resulting in a completely satisfactory solution to the amplifier search. All Koch amplifiers, cabs and accessories reflect this dedication to functional design and high-quality processing.
