The Retake function on the Marantz PMD661 MK2 lets you rewind and record over mistakes or disruptions without creating a new audio file. No need to create unnecessary files and to piece together multiple files created during the same recording session. The PMD661 MKII lets you protect your audio files by encrypting your MP3 files to MPS files and WAV files to WAS files. Both types of files require a four-digit password authorization to play back. Password authorization will also be required to play back the files in the included PMD Mark Editor software, so your recordings will be secure. The Marantz PMD661 ships bundled with Mark Editor software. This software lets you adjust marker points you make on recorded files after you've recorded, so you can perform basic editing functions on any PC or laptop without extra software.
