That was the birth of the Bass VI. The bass VI was meant to help guitar players over the transition from electric guitar to electric bass guitar. In principle, this bass is a guitar with a long scale length and tuned an octave lower. Prominent users were Jack Bruce and the Beatles. In the 70's the Bass VI gained late notoriety due to the Dutch band "Hank the Knife & the Jets" who used the Bass VI as a Baritone guitar. Old originals of this Instruments are rare and very expensive, but there is a remedy: the Squier Vintage Modified Bass VI OW is a reprint of this exotic guitar at a moderate price. Optics, circuit and equipment meet the original. Exotic, but very cool.
