In this series, wood is used which is very high in quality, but is available in too small quantities to be included in the normal custom program. For the standard program, the detailed production of these instruments is, of course, much more labour intensive. The Taylor Builder's Reserve Series III is a bundle consisting of a Taylor Custom GS (Grand Symphony) with Taylor's unique armrest and an exclusive hand-made Taylor Acoustic Amplifier. A craft-inspired guitar amp In the face of Taylor's striking success in the development of great electronics for acoustic guitars, it was probably only a matter of time before Taylor would turn to the next link in the signal chain. We are pleased to offer a limited edition of the Taylor ES acoustic amplifier, 40 watts and designed as a natural extension for the pickup and pre-amplifier of the expression system. The goal was to give players a great sounding acoustic amplifier that is small, light and easy to use. The clear structure of the amplifier does not add any colouring to the amplified sound of an ES-equipped guitar. In fact, there is only one volume control on the amplifier. For sound shaping, players use the ES controls on their guitar. Instead of going into full production with the amplifier, Taylor has built the amplifier exclusively by hand and for this year it's selling exclusively in the form of various builder's reserve guitar amplifier pairs, with adapted wood and design elements. As with the ukulele-guitar pairs, there are 30 units of them sold as an acoustic package. The first pair presents a GS guitar with cutaway, the back and sides of which are made of beautifully flamed, tangentially cut mahogany. The top is made of European spruce, the neck is flamed mahogany and for the first time ever used Taylor flamed maple for the arm rest and the binding. "The European spruce, which is difficult to procure, coupled with a GS body made of mahogany, sounds fantastic, " says Andy. "It sounds similar to that of Adirondack, " he explains. "It has an enormous, expressive volume with a lot of headroom, but also with powerful and magnificent overtones. It is a mixture of Engelmann and Adirondack spruce. A truly classic wood for instrument tops. " Andy designed custom-made fingerboard and headboard inserts, inspired by the Greene Brothers' residential architecture, whose bungalow-like homes in Southern California (including Pasadena's famous Gamble House) are considered icons of the American Craftsman style movement. The "Pasadena Torch" inlaid design from flamed maple and bubinga was also incorporated into the amplifier housing. The artistic and aesthetics of the Greene Brothers were also the inspiration for the decorative design. The body is made of solid flamed maple - and thus corresponds to the maple binding, which surrounds the guitar - with inserted side walls of flamed Mahogany, which matches the back, sides and neck of the guitar. These plates are decorated with the Pasadena Torch inlay, in harmony with the guitar's fingerboard. Guitar and amplifier together form an inspiring acoustic Partnership, which will delight every player, collector or wood craftsman. Features of the ES Acoustic Amp
